Books not opening

Anyone else having trouble with books not opening?

In iPad Air, iPhone and iPad mini, when I try to open a book, the app just closes.

Have reinstalled on the air and only put a few books back but same problem.

This just started about 2 hours ago.

Hello Zebedi, this is the first time I am reading/hearing about this problem. Also 1.9 did not touch anything about opening a book.
'Started 2 hours ago', does it mean it worked OK before with the same version?
Does it happen with all books?
Out of curiosity: where do you have your books stored (local, icloud, dropbox, ...)?

Forgot to mention I’m on iOS 26.4, but so is my old iPad and that’s ok at the moment, which is strange.

Also the phone changes to landscape before the app closes and the iPads were reverting to landscape when book first opened, before they started closing down.

Can you please check if you have any logs for that iPhone in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data > look for justRead entries.
And if so, can you please them to my email address?

And a final question: is it possible you have a mismatch of versions, as 1.9 was released to Apple Store in the night... Is it possible that you do have 1.8 on one device and 1.9 on another? Because for 1.9 there were added database entries (color presets).

Was all working well, i updated the app and I was setting up a couple of colour schemes when it started the trouble and just shut down. I tried opening several different books but it just kept closing. When I reinstalled i only read in one folder, and it sat there for ages reading the metadata, on 57 books. The folder is in Files where it has always been.

Same on the phone, and mini.

Looks like it is attached to those color schemes and has nothing to do with files.
In Home, under ... do you please have 1.9 on all devices?

iPads are all in 1.9 (2), and phone says it’s on 1.9.

Will have a look for iPhone logs.

Updated 1.9.1 went to AppStore with a fix for some edge cases, when the color picker produces a wrong hex color code. Also I added a Reset Color Presets button in the settings, in case something goes wrong, this will remove all the presets and sets just the two defaults.

Thanks for the update, seems to have done the trick.

One other thing I forgot to mention, when I open the app, and then open a book, the cover shows as landscape and I find the settings have reverted to number of pages in portrait 2 and number of pages in landscape 1. After I have changed it back, it’s ok until I open the app the next time. This is for iPad but the phone opens books in landscape and I have to turn them round.

Hi Zebedi, what do you mean by 'number of pages in portrait' or 'number of pages in landscape'. There is nothing like that in the app. The app calculated one number of pages for epub.
Also I do not understand the last sentence.
