Need help downloading to old Sony Reader
Good morning from Canada.
I am looking for some technical help. I have downloaded the Calibre app to my laptop that has Windows 10. I have downloaded two ebooks (Format ACSM) from my PUBLIC LIBRARY. When i try to send to my device (SonyPRS600) the message i get is; "Could not upload the following books to the device, as no suitable formats were found. Convert the books to a format supported by your device first." When I try to convert I get the following message; "Could not convert the book because no supported source format was found " My Sony reader is quite old so that may be the problem ? In the past I was able to load books from the library, but the original download path is no longer operable. Does Calibre support / allow the downloading of books from a public library? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers G |

An ACSM file is not an ebook, it is an Adobe Content Server Message file. It tells your computer how to download the book, whether it is a purchase or a loan, how long the load period is, etc.
You will need to use ADE or add the ACSM plugin to calibre to be able to download the ePub that the ACSM file is pointing to. You will also need to add a DRM removal plugin to calibre but that topic is not open for discussion on MobileRead. |
