New Features
- Color presets: create custom text and background color combinations, and set them to activate automatically by light/dark mode or sunrise/sunset
- Want to read: mark books you plan to read next, with a dedicated section on the home screen
- Markdown export: export your highlights as Markdown for use in other apps
- Multiple authors: books with multiple authors are now displayed and searchable individually
- Book details: view description, language, publisher, and publication date for your books
- Tap-to-view images: tap images inside books to view them full-size
- Estimated page counts: books now show an estimated page count based on content length
- Per-device layout: set separate layout preferences for iPhone and iPad

- Alphabet jumper in the library is easier to tap
- Grid display options for iPad library (cover size, info visibility)
- Home screen sections can be shown or hidden from the menu
- Tags align centered in grid/home views and leading in list views
- Reader line spacing and bottom-of-page gaps improved

- Faster iCloud sync startup (removed unnecessary delay)
- Swipe actions removed from library list for a cleaner experience

I just updated the app on my iPad and my iPhone. The want to read-list doesn‘t appear on the iPhone even if I put it on. When I put it off on my iPhone it vanished from the iPad, so the sync works :-). But if I put it on again, I can only see it on the iPad. It doesn‘t matter for me but maybe it’s nice to know for you.

And some thoughts concerning the collections.
I would like the possibility to sort the collections by name. Now they appear in the order of creation.
And second: when I did search a book I can‘t put it into a collection directly. This works only when I am in the library itself. Maybe a context menu „add to collection“ could be helpful.

Hi, what versions of ios do you please have in ipad and iphone?
The sections do not appear, when there are no books inside.
If you add a book to this read-list section on iphone... the section should appear.
I think the problem is with that ios 26.4 syncing.

1. collections ASC, will be in next version
2. add to collection in search, will be in next version

On both Devices I have still 26.3.1

Now I see that it was only one special book which didn‘t appear. After removing it and put it again on the list it works. So everything is fine

OK, and you also confirmed by this that 26.3 version sync is working correctly, when 26.4 not: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/820550?page=2

Hope Apple will fix this soon, because as I read it, even live activities do not work.

Great to see v1.9.

Really, really pleasing. Thank you for all the new features!

I have a problem currently. New books aren’t showing cover - just question mark.
When I open a new book, and then close it again the cover shows. Same on iPad mini on ios 23 and iPad Pro on ios 23.
Any thoughts?

No to I’m afraid. I tried shutting app, deleting the app, re loading as a new library, shutting down iPad, basically everything I could think of.

Hello Richard, just tried with a totally new device and... no problems at all.
This is how I did it, can you please describe, how are you adding new books?
1. I have a directory called ebooks
2. I have 20 books in that directory
3. I select that directory, it loads and show all books
4. Then I add 3 another file into this directory
5. Pull to refresh and the books are there, with covers, all the metadata, everything

Are you doing the adding of new books the same way?

1.9.1 version pushed to AppStore now

- Fixed an issue where some book covers would not appear after a library scan
- Fixed text alignment not being applied when the publisher's stylesheet set a different alignment
- Collections are now sorted alphabetically
- Added Collections and Delete options to the book context menu in Home and Search views
- Books with 0% progress no longer appear in the In Progress section

I have found that 1.9 has fixed my problem of new books not being found on library refresh. Hooray!
