Question Turning Off ALL Autocompletes

I'm probably forgetting something I'm supposed to know... but I can't find any settings/tweaks governing these.

I want to turn off ALL autocompletes, and "past items" in the search/search-and-replace, functions. I do not like dropdowns substituting in to free-text entry areas to start with... and the dropdowns sometimes cause typing errors (especially when I'm typing in something that's different only 10-12 characters in).

"Autocomplete" is almost always something I do not want, and should NEVER be a default selection (some people work in multiple languages and/or with specialized vocabularies, and the less said about "proper names" and autocomplete the better). I at least want to turn it off!

As far as I know, there is no way in the calibre editor to disable autocomplete on search/search & replace.

AFAIK, that is only for automatically adding the /> to close a tag. It does not have any effect on autocomplete in search/search & replace.
