"Updating - do Not power off your eReader"

What happens if I do? The latest Kobo firmware update caused the usual 'generator error' on my Libra Colour so I ran the current KFMon update, and after installing without issue and ejecting, the device has been stuck on "Updating .. Do Not Turn off your eReader" for more than 30 minutes.

If I power down, will I brick it?
