Lost Progress After Format Conversion?

I was 31% of the way through an epub, when I converted it to a kepub. I went to the same place in the book, and I'm now only 20% of the way through. What's going on here?

See my answer in the other thread where you mentioned this.

Quoting here because it's more a Kobo question than a Calibre question:

RMSDK (ePub on a Kobo) assigns one "page" for every 1,000 characters of text. This ensures that "Page 50" refers to the same block of text regardless of whether you are reading on a large monitor or a small smartphone screen.

KePub us mostly one screen is one page. So your settings such as line height, font size, and margins can change the total number of pages.
The issue isn't which page I'm on. I expected that to change, because I was aware of the difference in page numbering systems going in. But if I'm 31% of the way through the book, I'm 31% of the way through the book, whether I'm on page 31 of 100 or page 93 of 300 or anything else.

Well, I spent half an hour reading last night so I'm not sure what page number I was on, but I'm now on page 177 of 479, which Kobo claims is 24% of the way through the book. Actual math suggests it's actually 37% of the way through the book.

Firmware 4.25.23646 has been released. Try that and see if it fixes the problem. The patches have also been released.
