Semantically Reasonable Name for Brain Implant Class?
This is a bit silly, but I'm trying to come up with a semantically reasonable name for a class that formats brain implant communication. Right now, I'm just re-using a "status" class that I use for displaying computer information on a screen. But, I thought it's probably time to come up with a more semantically correct name.
After that, my brain runs dry. Any suggestions? Last edited by enuddleyarbl; Yesterday at 12:23 PM. |

I'd love to use class="BrainPal". But, I wonder if there might be legal ramifications. As Colonel "Bat" Guano said in "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb:"

Hamilton also used OCtattoos (organic circuitry) in his Commonwealth books. It allowed them to communicate with the Unisphere. They also ran personal assistants known as e-butlers or u-shadows.
Good luck! |

lol. That’s funny!!
You obviously can make up any class name - there’s no semantics involved in a class name, just the tag. I don’t think there are any issues with copyright either… you aren’t really supposed to be able to copyright a language. The only thing I’m familiar with is people making a trademark (TM)… and it’s up to them to enforce it…. I would be surprised if anyone actually opened up your book to see what class names you use!! You could use a generic <em> to emphasize the word/phrase, or even add a class to that if you wish: <em class="brainism"> <p class="brainism"> for the whole paragraph <div class="brainism"> for a whole section CSS: .brainism {color:grey-matter; font-family siwave } /*or whatever you want*/While typing it up you could use a simple "BI" and then find/replace at the end to whatever class name you come up with. |

I guess I'll go with the brainpal thing. It's short enough and memorable enough. It does carry a lot of a more amusing connotation than I'd want (both from the name and from remembering the books). But, we'll see. I don't do much with the formatting. It'll look like:
Code:
p.brainpal {
/* Brainpal styling for single line brain implant lines */
display: block;
font-size: small;
font-weight: bold;
margin-left: 2em;
margin-right: 2em;
padding: 1em;
text-align: left;
text-indent: 0;
}
