DearAuthor's write-up about ebook publishing today

If you're interested in reading a nicely done editorial about what publishing needs to consider soon about ebooks, head on over to DearAuthor.com.

I think it's important that the publishers understand that it's not just the "geeks" and "gadget-hounds" who are embracing (or want to embrace) ebooks. Jane is more comfortable than some with technology, but she still writes more for and from the point of view of the "simple reader" who just wants to enjoy a good story in a digital format, rather than paper.

Good post, Fizzy! And good blog post from De_Jane (DearAuthor.com).

Using the unauthorized (illegal) release of the Harry Potter novel helps drive home the unsanity of ebook nonpublishing (yes, I understand the neogramatical nature of that nonsentence).

It is also interesting to note that romance novels seem to be constantly at the top of sales charts for ebooks. I would normally presume that Science Fiction would be the chart topper.

I personally never read romance novels, except for the J.D. Robb "in death" novels, and that is only because it is Science Fiction to me. I skip all the romance paragraphs.
