Question about Cover Grid Display with Title Field

Hopefully this is the correct place to ask this.

Back when I used Calibre 4.3 for many years if I went to the cover grid view in the library I use for audiobooks the title would appear directly under the cover. The audiobooks use square covers vs regular book covers. I never had to change anything in Look & feel. The title simply appeared directly below the covers regardless of the cover aspect ratio.

Once I got my new PC and updated to the more recent version of Calibre (it was 7 something at the time but now is 9.3.1) this no longer worked. In the cover grid view for audiobooks the title appears well below the bottom edge of the cover. I know I can go into Look & feel and temporarily change the aspect ratio by setting the cover size height to 3.5 cm rather than 5.1 cm and the title field will then move up.

My question is am I missing a setting that will allow for the title position to change automatically when I switch between libraries the way it used to?




*Just FYI I don’t actually store audiobooks in Calibre, this is just an empty library with a custom column for where I purchased the audiobooks since I use multiple retailers plus have some older ones on CD

calibre 7 is pretty old now so hard to say. But I would guess that this was deliberate to have the text at the same level for every item. I think that looks better, but it is certainly possible to add an option for the old behavior.
