Clara BW Touch Bug When Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Are Off

Hello, I bought a Kobo Clara BW (P365 model) last week and have had an annoying touch bug and have finally figured out why it only sometimes occurs and sometimes seems fine.

Basically, when I let the device sit for 5+ seconds without touching the screen and I see a word I want to highlight, I'll do the hold action over the word but it'll register as a tap and go to the next/previous page or open the menu. If I then quickly swipe back and hold my finger over the word the touch screen behaves as intended. In general, the touch screen is just unreliable in this state and is not only limited to highlighting a word but that is the most easiest I can reproduce this bug.

Yesterday I found out that having my Wi-Fi on causes the issue to not appear so I did some testing and it seems that having either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on will fix the issue. Once Wi-Fi/Bluetooth are off I can reproduce this bug every time.

The issue is that both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth get disabled after some time and so this is not really a fix.

I wanted to ask for people with Kobo devices if they can replicate this behavior as well, so I can make a decision as to whether to return it for a new one or just ask for a refund if all Kobo Clara BW's exhibit this bug.

I am on the latest firmware (4.44.23552) and have tried a reset, which didn't change anything.

Doesn't appear to happen on a Clara 2E with firmware 4.38.23552.

I made a video showing the issue. Is there no one else with a Kobo Clara BW (P365 model) that can try and see if theirs also has this issue?

This absolutely does not happen here. Clara BW, N365, Wi-Fi and BT always off.

I think you need to send your unit back. Or first try a power cycle or factory reset.

The 4 people I checked who have a Clara BW are not seeing the issue with touch connected to WiFi/Bluetooth. OTOH, they are all the N (Netronix) not the P (TPV) variant.

Just got the replacement unit and it has the exact same issue. It's also the same P365 model, so I suppose all P365 units have this issue and not the N365 units.
