Scrolling speed changed in Calibre 9?

I've noticed that in Calibre 9 scrolling speed seems to have changed. I'm using Cover View, if that matters.
Now one tick of the mouse wheel scrolls an entire page. So a whole new set of covers appears.
In v8 it scrolled just a little bit. So it just moved covers up or down a bit.

I'm running the portable version of Calibre and I always make a copy before installing any upgrade, to easily roll back should there be any issues. So that's how I can very clearly see this difference in scrolling behavior now.

I liked the old v8 behavior better. Is this a setting I can change somewhere?

One click of the mouse wheel scrolls by a fraction of a cover, that remains the case in calibre 9 as well. What OS?

With which actual mouse? this is likely a change in Qt so I doubt it can be fixed in calibre, but I will take a look.

When I scroll in list view, it scrolls 3 lines. The top book number is 1 and a scroll then shows 4. But in cover view, it scrolls all of the visible covers.

I hadn't noticed this. 8.16.2 feels indeed much better in this regard.

Phew! that works

I was already trying to use Qt6 dlls from 8.16.2 in a 9 install, to see if I could restore old behaviour.

(calibre portable exe was giving:

For me, it scrolls 3 rows of covers which considering there are 3.5 rows visible is pretty much the whole screen.

The fix now takes 3 clicks to scroll one row of covers. Not sure if that is much of an improvement for my uses. Admittedly, I seldom use cover view unless I am playing with it.

And old scrolling indeed restored in 9.2.1, thank you for the quick fix Kovid!
