Kindle fire

Hi everyone in having a problem with my kindle. I have hundreds of books on my kindle .they are saved on a sd card. I have used calibre for years but 4 days ago my kindle fire stopped saving bookmarks It saved bookmarks if they are on the kindle itself but not on the sd. I have have sync the kindle but according to some people Amazon have blocked this function while books are stored on the ad card. Anyone has any idea
