Epub to Azw3: How to preserver popup Footnotes?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to convert Epub files to AZW3 and ran into an annyoing issue: the Epub popup footnotes (links) don’t survive the conversion. Instead of the usual small pop‑up window that appears when tapping a link, the notes get turned into regular links and are moved to the end of the chapter. Has anyone found a reliable way to preserve popup footnotes when converting Epub → AZW3? Any tips or specific Calibre settings would be greatly appreciated. |

The little I've seen on AZW3 and footnotes implies the footnotes should be two-way linked and use
Code:
<a>, <aside>, epub:type="noteref", and epub:type="footnote" Try formatting the call to the footnote in the text as: Code:
<a id="fn1" href="#fn1a" epub:type="noteref">n</a>...</p> Code:
<aside id="fn1a" class="footnote" epub:type="footnote"><p><a href="#fn1">n</a>.thenote.</p></aside> I put my footnotes immediately following the paragraph that calls them. But, even with EPUB3 on my Kobo, I don't necessarily get a popup. But, at least if the popup fails, the footnote is nearby. |
