2 years of security updates isn't acceptable

I was about to drop $600 on the Boox Note Max as I can use it both as a monitor and avoid scrolling A4 research PDFs.

But only a couple of years of updates putting it as $300 a year is pretty pricey.

Are there any other devices I can use late at night without disrupting my sleep with longer support periods?
