FactoryReseted after JB; ota block still active
Hi Guys
Help, I try to go back to OTA firmware, but can't since my OTA blockers seems still enabled. In a hurry I did a factory reset on my PW3 (5.12.2). Before the device had a JB with Kual, MRpi and OTA-block enabled. After the reset, the OTA block was still in charge (greyed out menu). Now I re-applied the Jailbreak (kindlebreak, mrpi, kual). But I seems to be in a strange state. And can't continue Kual can't run mrpi package installations; so I still ned ";log mrpi" for the rescue. I guess kual is not fully functional somehow. I also installed the renamte-ota block extension, in hope that this will restore my ota upgrade functionality. but also here I get no feedback from kual when running rename/restore. I tried to install usb-network, in hope that I can fix the fix using a shell. But although the packing installer runs and restarts successfully. I can't find the usb-network control entries in kual. Any ideas how I can re-enable OTA update or flash back to a factory firmware by using mrpi? Last edited by lordeagle; 01-08-2026 at 04:33 PM. |

Install firmware update by copying it via USB cable then without ejecting from your computer force the Kindle to restart by holding the power button for 15-20s. That should trigger firmware install and install will restore ota binaries to original state.
https://kindlemodding.org/firmware-a...g-updates.html Change the number at the end of download link to choose what firmware version you want to download. Code:
