Gray Text in Preview
Hello,
I'm a total ebook newbie, so apologies in advance if I'm asking something super-obvious. I'm currently editing a book in Calibre Editor, but for some reason the text in the preview window is gray even though it's black in Kindle Previewer and other viewers. Is there some setting I'm missing? Thanks in advance for any help! |

Um... sorry, this is where I get kind of lost; I'm just not an HTML/CSS person, I'm a print dinosaur. I see lots of color settings in the CSS, some set to #000000, others with other settings (eg for links), but none that I can see that produce that light gray.

If you delete all the entries for color, is the text still gray? If it is, try to delete all the font-family entries and see if there's any change. You can always go back, the changes won't stick unless you save the file. |

The font is Garamond, so there's no reason for it to display that light. I've gone through and eliminated all the color entries, but no change. I'm wondering if it's a display setting within Calibre, like if perhaps the viewer is configured to dark mode or something. It's more an annoyance than anything since the text displays as black in readers and previews. Thanks again for your help.

OMG thank you so much! I knew it had to be a simple setting. I went into the preferences and changed the Preview foreground color to #000000 (had been set to auto), and that did the trick. Thanks again!
