Touch Can't connect to Wifi

So I've connected my Kobo to the internet for the first time in a while a couple of days ago and while syncing, it showed me that an update (4.38.23555) was available, so I updated and everything's fine until I tried connecting to the internet again and it couldn't find anything. Tried restarting my kobo and the router, and also tried connecting it to a completely different network but nothing would show up.

Would I have to do a factory reset or could I just go back to the firmware I was on before (4.38.23429) without resetting?

In the odd chance that someone encounters the same problem: downgrading did nothing so I manually reset my kobo, then connected to the desktop app. It updated my kobo back up to 4.38.23555 and when it turned back on, the wifi started working again.
