Stuck at "Checking your browser before accessing annas-archive.org"

Hi
I am using Calibre 8.16.2 under Linux Mint Cinnamon edition (version 21.3). And every time I use the "get books" option I get stuck in the "Checking your browser before accessing annas-archive.org" loop. I am using the Calibre browser and a VPN. How can I either bypass or expedite this "verification"?

First question would be if you can open Anna's Archive using your web browser and the VPN?

Also how did you add Anna's Archive to calibre's Get books functionality? The only item with archive in the name that I see is archive.org.

Have you tried without the VPN? VPNs are known to cause issues with CloudFlare and other DDOS limiting sites.

You may also want to open calibre in debug mode and post the log file here after attempting a Get books search.
