Two column and pages left in chapter

I have the "Include current page in pages left" option turned on.

Is there any way to set things up so that, when reading in two-column mode, and the last page of a chapter is the left column, the right column shows up as blank, the "pages left in chapter" shows 1, and the next chapter starts after the page turn?

Currently the second-to-last page shows 1, and when I turn the page and can see the last page of the current chapter and the first page of the next chapter, "pages left in chapter" shows the chapter page count of the chapter starting in the right column.
