I need help with KUAL, Kindle Touch jailbreaking hit roadblock

Help, to anyone who reading this, I've recently gotten a hand me down Kindle Touch without registration right now. Tried to jailbreak it. Successful up to activating KUAL.

these are the steps I went through:
1.K5 JailBreak (5.0.x - 5.4.4.2) [I saw the jailbreak message then restarted my kindle]
2. Mobileread Kindlet Kit (Dev certs & Kindlet JB) [downloaded mkk]
3. added the extracted folders of MR Package Installer
4. downloaded Kual, KUAL | KUAL-v2.7.37-gfcb45b5-20250419.tar.xz, used the KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2 file by putting it in documents
5. Downloaded dev certs by putting it in root and updating kindle:

the firmware my kindle runs on is 5.1.1
the device was not connected to wifi as I did these steps
please advise how to proceed im at my wits end

That's the problem. You need to update the firmware to the latest version, 5.3.7.3.

I'm trying that, but the update link from:

is not taking with my kindle. I put the file in my root and go to my settings but the update kindle is greyed out. How should i proceed?

That page says you need to first install version 5.3.2.1, and then 5.3.7.3.

Tried that but got error U006

I jailbroke it already tried to uninstall everything, reset the device, and still nothing. The ;debugOn => ;dumpMessages => ;debugOff commands dont work.

how should i proceed?
