Skip Format check before sending to device

I'm running Calibre 8.10. Until recently, when I clicked Send to Device, my mobi book would whizz off to my Kindle without any further ado. I recently lost and have had to restore my preferences file. Now when I click Send to Device, I get a dialogue box asking me to confirm I want to send the mobi format. It's the only format listed in the dialogue box.

**How do I get Calibre to skip the confirmation dialogue?**

In Device—Configure Device, I've tried ticking Mobi as my only preferred format, and I've tried unticking it. Either way, I still get the confirmation dialogue. There don't seem to be any options under "Send to Device" itself to adjust whether or not the dialogue is shown.

What am I doing wrong?

With the device connected: (this is device sensitive)
Right click the DEVICE VIEW Icon : Configure this device: set the order (use arrows ) and tick formats allowed. Calibre will use existing formats that are ticked and offer to convert only if no existing matches.

Kindles KFX, Azw3, then Mobi in descending order of quality

Thank you for the suggestion. My Kindle is sufficiently old that MOBI is the only format read, and I have ticked this (and no other options). I am still asked to confirm that I want to send the Mobi format.

You are incorrect. The Kindle Touch can read KF8.

You have a Before K4 model? (and it still works??) My K4 does AZW3.
BTW the dialog that asks has a tick 'don't ask again' ( I had mine ticked from long ago and had forgotten)

OK, I solved this and I'm feeling stupid for not having thought this through properly.

In [Send to Device]—[Set Default Send to Device Action], I had chosen [Send Specific Format to] which caused Calibre to check what specific format I wanted each time. I've now set this to, simply, [Send to Main Memory], and everything goes through without the confirmation dialogue, the way I wanted it to.

I'm leaving this up here in case anyone else has the same trivial-but-annoying question. Thanks for suggestions.

If people did that, I would not have enjoyed my career in IT for nearly as long.

Is "enjoyed" quite the right term?

Back in the 80's IT paid well. We also got to play with BIG IRON (A single DASD weighed over 2000 pounds. We had 16 of these boxes, The CPU box was almost 4K pounds.) that took hundreds of square feet. Ethernet was thick. Nowadays that all fits into 1 boring 19" rack
