font-family: Palatino, Malabar, Merriweather, "Droid Serif", serif;

I find that a some of the books now do not display the text in the preview, nor can you see the text via the viewer.

In one particular book I found the following in the style file: "font-family: Palatino, Malabar, Merriweather, "Droid Serif", serif;" which if I remove, the text displays correctly.

I am not sure yet whether every book contains exactly this set of font-family statements, but I do know that if I remove this sort of statement, the text displays correctly.

I have all of these font families on my computer (Mac), however Merriweather may not be complete

I see that it works on a Windows 11 computer without any changes.

Is this a bug?

Personally, I tend to dump any font-family lines in my personal use ebooks. Too often, they are not fonts that look good on an eInk display. At most, I will use "font-family: sans-serif; for those few times when I want a header to display in sans-serif.

Font display problems on macOS Tahoe happen because of changes in Tahoe. Search the forum for issues with fonts in the viewer on macos and you will find the solution, which is typically cleaning out broken/incomplete/etc fonts using FontBook.
