Device: kobo arc 7
URGENT: Kobo Arc (K107) Firmware zeus-ota-781.zip or NAND Image Needed

I have a Kobo Arc Model K107, initially thought I was able to sideload a correct firmware for the original Kobo arc 7 but now it's stuck on the DNA helix (boot loop), and all public links are dead end. Cannot find the correct firmware zeus-ota-781.

If anyone still has the actual firmware zeus-ota-781.zip file could you please share it with me through Google Drive, MEGA, or private message/email me?

This Kobo model K107 was gifted to my daughter from my sister. didn't realize it was going to be so complicated to use this device.

Would really appreciate all the help for the firmware, then after that, probably more help on how to install it properly and get this kobo working again. Really hate to waste this small tablet and leave it as paperweight.

The Internet Archive has saved it.

You'll probably need to sideload using ADB:

Subject: K107 stuck at setup wizard — services.kobobooks.com TLS handshake rejected (firmware already reflashed to 781)

Hoping someone here has a NAND dump or a patched boot/system image for the original Kobo Arc (model K107, codename "zeus"), because I've narrowed the failure down to a precise point and software-only fixes are exhausted.

Situation:
- Device: Kobo Arc K107 (the original 2012 model, not the Arc 7/HD).
- Symptom: stuck in the first-run setup wizard. Connects to Wi-Fi fine, then fails at the "update" step with Error #7. A factory reset just loops back to the same wizard.
- I reflashed the stock OTA (zeus-ota-781.zip, pulled from the Wayback Machine) via "apply update from ADB" in recovery. It verified and installed cleanly — confirmed signed-by-SignApk, correct contents (MLO, iboot.img, boot.img, etc.). So the firmware side is good. The error persists, which makes sense: reflashing the OS doesn't change the setup wizard's online requirement.

What I traced:
- Stood up a controlled Wi-Fi AP (Linux/NetworkManager hotspot + dnsmasq) and captured the device's traffic during the failing step.
- During setup the device does DNS lookups for services.kobobooks.com (and www.kobo.com), then opens a connection to services.kobobooks.com on port 443.
- I pointed those domains at my machine and ran an HTTPS server with a self-signed cert (CN/SAN = services.kobobooks.com), with legacy TLS versions and ciphers enabled (SECLEVEL=0) so the 2012 client could negotiate.
- TCP + TLS handshake starts normally: ClientHello -> my ServerHello+Certificate (1331 bytes delivered) -> the device sends one short flight (~150 bytes) with FIN and immediately RSTs. The HTTPS server never receives an application-layer request.
- Conclusion: the wizard validates the server certificate for services.kobobooks.com and rejects a self-signed one, so DNS/HTTP redirection can't satisfy it. Adding a trusted CA would need OS access, which the wizard blocks — a sealed loop.

What I'm looking for, in order of preference:
1. A full NAND/eMMC image for the K107 that boots already provisioned (past setup), so I can flash and skip the activation entirely.
2. A patched boot or system image (e.g. ADB/root enabled, ro.secure=0, or setup pre-marked complete via device_provisioned/user_setup_complete) that I can write via OMAP USB-boot mode, since stock recovery rejects unsigned packages.
3. Any known working method to complete or bypass the K107 setup wizard now that services.kobobooks.com no longer answers as the device expects.

I can enter recovery (ADB sideload works) and the device should be reachable in OMAP flash mode. Happy to provide my own dumps if anyone can point me at the partition layout / a working procedure. Thanks in advance.
