Hello, i want to try out KOReader on a Kindle Keyboard I have, and I tried following this YouTube guide on how to jailbreak it and install KOReader.
I followed all the instructions exactly, but when i try to open KUAL, it simply tells me "Mobileread Kindlet Kit is not installed." However, I installed the B008 mkk and made sure to update the kindle afterwards, even doing it twice. Also, if it helps, i'm on version 3.4.2 Even a factory reset doesn't help. Can anyone please help me to get this working? I would really appreciate it. |

UPDATE: so, i got it working, i had to install the outdated MKK, and then install the new one. I prob should've listened to the comments.
But I do have a question for KOReader and Wi-Fi, how can i connect to the wifi on this device without the jailbreak breaking. I tried to connect through the actual kindle OS, but it just blocked me from opening KUAL again, saying that I needed to be added to the list of approved devices. |

I am having issues with this also.
Even with the ota blocking folder in-place, enabling wireless still breaks KUAL (get that 'this isn't a test device' error and can't launch KUAL). The jailbreak doesn't fail in my experience, it just breaks KUAL (or mkk? not sure which) as it can be fixed (again, in my experience) by turning off wireless and reinstalling the newer mkk bin. Noting I have the k3bg variant (European I think - using latest 3.4.3 firmware). I'm guessing it has something to do with the redundant 3G sim card that's in these models? Even though disconnected from amazon now, it may still be pinging servers and causing this problem. Any help would be appreciated if someone has solved this (my searching this forum hasn't found anything yet.) Last edited by k3bg; Yesterday at 11:47 PM. Reason: clarification |
