Troubleshooting slow startup: Python errors

I have noticed the app startup time has been getting longer lately so just tried starting in debug mode.

I notice a bunch of python errors in the log, attached.

Q1. Any thoughts on the errors?
Q2. What are the .calnotes and .caltrash folders? Not sure I ever noticed them before.

onedrive and Calibre Library do not play together.
Move your Library out of a onedrive controlled folder.

I have also noted that during startup, Defender is being hit real hard (task manager) and My Library is on the exclusion list.

The .calnotes folder is where calibre stores the Notes attached to individual category values. The .caltrash folder is where calibre stores deleted books and formats in a way that they can be easily restored.

They're both fairly recent additions… i.e. within past 5 years.

Long shot: If they're hidden, try unhiding them.

Move calibre out of onedrive your issues are all likely related to that.

If I had a nickel for every time, that someone on MobileRead has posted that type of comment about using a NAS/network storage/any non-local storage for their library, I'd be able to buy myself a Scribe Colorsoft. It may work for years but eventually the bear stops dancing.

Nothing like that happening here, I don't exclude any of calibre (executables, libraries, config) from Defender, MWB daily scans, Windows Indexer, X1 Indexer, Previous versions etc.

But I don't have many plugins. Try starting with --ignore-plugins
