Hi, this is very strange, here's the situation: I was reading a book using koreader in a kt4 like I've been doing for a couple of years now, then all of the sudden the brightness of the screen goes to maximum I press the power the button for no good reason and the screen goes off like it normally does but when I hit it back It does not turn on, after a couple of tries I decide to press the power button for 40 seconds and reset the kindle, after the reboot everything seems fine except that the PC doesn't detect it as a usb device anymore.
I know usb does not work while koreader is on, I'm trying to figure out what happened because I think maybe something got "stuck" in the configuration since koreader didn't exit cleanly and maybe that's what is keeping the pc from recognizing the kindle? I'm at a lost here, any ideas are welcome, and yes before you ask it's not the cable(s). |

New information, the Kindle now discharges really fast, it lost 20% battery overnight. It was fine up until this happened.
Even more info: the Kindle feels warm without being used and keeps draining the battery really fast. Last edited by mistyk; Yesterday at 07:32 AM. |

Do the command “htop” in the terminal (no quotes) and see what processes have high the CPU usage

Ah... I wish I have read your post before I did a reset on the kindle, after the reset I don't have kual anymore, and it still isn't detected by a PC. I guess I'm doom.

factory reset is the only option, to my knowledge.
I had this issue too, and that's waht i did. Though check your firmware version. |

Make sure you restore JB before you do anything else though!

You never ever reset a Kindle to back off a jailbreak. What you need to do is install non-jailbroken firmware to replace what you are running.

I can't sadly, what started all this is that is not recognized by a computer.
Yes but the kindle was not recognized by a PC, so I didn't have many options. My problem is that I cannot flash anything to it, but running htop may have thrown a clue, now the kindle discharges really fast and it's still not recognized by a PC after the reset. Other than that "works as intended" but the firmware upgrade option is grayed out also, that was probably because I had the noOta package so the jailbreak is still there, I never thought I rather don't have a JB lol. |
