Troubleshooting Kindle restarting on opening a book

I am using a Kindle Oasis, a few years old. When I buy and download a book from Amazon or add a book I have made with Calibre, on opening the new book after Kindle in sleep, it has to restart. Has to do this every time.
Any idea why?

For me, this is a sign that the cover image has something wrong with it that causes a crash of the framework. Try turning off cover image viewing in the settings.
