I Need help before buying
Hi,
My last backlit ereader failed me yesterday, while my I can’t remember how many years old non-backlit first of its brand Kobo is still operational. I do need a replacement, with the absolute requirement to be able to load ePUB2 files from a (Fedora) Linux computer to the device, either manually copying them or using Calibre. The device, otherwise, would be useless to me. Not having to log, create an account on the manufacturer site, and so on would also be a great plus… Few decent models are available to me, and I’m looking to either Kobo Clara BW or Boox Go 6, Kobo being my first choice because of its presumably lighter OS, IPX8 certification and cheaper price. Only other decent alternative would be a French rebranded - with a presumably slightly different software than the original Pocketbook InkPad 4. That would be a lat resort though - bigger, more expensive and Carta 1200 instead of 1300. Any advice/feedback pertinent to my needs will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Frédéric |
