Libra 2 SleepCover repair
like many other Libra 2 owners, my SleepCover began peeling and flaking within just a couple months of having purchased it. now, about two years later, it’s really starting to fall apart. i’ve purchased two kwmobile covers — they sell one that has a textured, plasticky sort of finish, as opposed to the terribly polyurethane pleather that’s more common — but both of them totally failed to trigger the magnetic hall sensor in the device’s screen, and i don’t want to keep rolling the dice with returns/exchanges.
i’ve read some people describe using clear nail polish around the edges to prevent further flaking, but i think that’ll wind up chipping and flaking off as well. it seems the OEM cases are simply out of production and out of stock (at least, on the US Kobo site). i’m considering getting some thin patterned fabric, gluing it to the rigid panels (leaving no glue around the origami creases), and sewing it all to the hinge. have any of you creatively repaired your SleepCover? |
