That is such a weird aspect ratio.

They seem to want to sell a subscription with it. It's about x2 overpriced. Also how long will they stay in business? Edit: Using E Ink Gallery 3. I'm sceptical about how responsive it is. https://remarkable.com/products/rema...tails/features Last edited by Quoth; 09-03-2025 at 12:26 PM. |

Pretty much the same 16:9 screen aspect ratio and diagonal as an old Android tablet I used to own. I would have preferred a 300ppi display instead of a 264ppi display but then a lot of the lower end Android tablets have gone from 1920x1080/1200 to 1280x720/800 as their "HD" screens.
One company I do some work with is looking at Remarkable for their encryption. Last edited by DNSB; Yesterday at 02:18 AM. |

Voja has posted a first impressions video if you want to see the Move in action:
Aside from a the size, aspect ratio, and a slightly whiter screen, it's basically the same as the Paper Pro. The refreshes are slow and blinky, as is expected from a Gallery 3 panel, but the colour reproduction is also better than Kaleido 3. |

Gallery: About 32000 variations, inc saturations and brightnesses. C Y M subtractive so brighter and no artefacts. About x10 slower than Kaleido. Hardly the "natural" colour claimed. You need at least 4 M variations for that. Regular CRTs, OLED, LCD etc are over 16 M. |

I understand some of the naysaying about ReMarkable devices, but I've had several (starting with a ReMarkable 1, moved to a ReMarkable 2, and now using a ReMarkable Pro). Yes, they're expensive. So are a lot of products. But I've got to say that I've absolutely loved all of my ReMarkable devices as have my coworkers who've also ordered one. Do I plan to buy this new device? No, probably not, because I don't really have the use case for it. And are there things that I'd want to improve on my current device? Of course, but that could be said for every piece of electronics I've ever owned.

I still have the reMarkable 1, which has some advantages over the cost-reduced hardly different reMarkable 2. The only worse large ereader I have is the Kindle DXG. The Elipsa was hugely better.
