I'm sure the site owner has their reasons, and I don't claim to know their situation better than them, but I would like to respectfully ask: why does this site have the most aggressive captcha I've ever seen?
So, I use a VPN and LibreWolf, a privacy-hardened fork of Firefox, so I'm very used to captchas at this point. It's just a part of life for the most part. However, even the most aggressive captchas I've run into will task me once—maybe twice—before leaving me in peace for the remainder of my site visit (i.e. until my cookies and/or cache are cleared). (For the record, I did try this on both vanilla Zen Browser (another fork of Firefox), and vanilla Firefox itself. Same result.) However, this site just leaves those in the dust: I reload a page, hell I take more than 60 seconds to submit my post/comment (yes, I timed it and yes, I do have a job; I'm just pedantic lol) it will prompt me again since my verification expired. Again, I do not pretend to know what the site goes through on a daily basis, and I also know AI scrapers have gotten WAY out of control, but most sites I've used have gotten by with once-a-session captchas (not 60-second ones). I guess what I'm asking is if it would be rude of me to ask for a bit of explanation, and I don't mean that in a rude way but with utmost respect. ![]() Many thanks, and keep up the good work in maintaining this site! I appreciate your efforts! – EinkPaladin --- Browsers Tested On:

You're a new member with relatively few posts. There are restrictions for new members to avoid spam (spammers try to target MobileRead pretty actively). Once you've posted a number of times, the restrictions will disappear, including the captcha.

And make sure you check the box to "remember you." I haven't seen a captcha here in years and years. If you don't check that box, you may have to deal with the short session timeout forever.
