Is Amazon testing a cheaper color Kindle?

It's a leak, and since it's from Reddit, you should take it with a grain of salt, but it's interesting information nonetheless.

This is a reminder that in March 2024, Ming-Chi Kuo leaked that Amazon would release Kindle E-Readers using Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP) in 2025.

While this was initially thought to be misinformation following the announcement of the Kindle Colorsoft / Colorsoft Signature Edition in October 2024 (as the Colorsoft uses a custom display stack by Amazon based on E Ink Kaleido 3), the leak will turn out to have been correct after all if the Kindle Petit Color and its variants are released this year.

It's fake. A Brazilian created this story because of a bet with a friend. He posted it on a Facebook group. The device is a meebook m6c.

I can't believe Amazon would be as daft as Bigme. They don't need to differentiate. The Gallery 3 / ACeP is for posters, adverts. Far too slow for an ereader. It's been available for years.
