Author Sort to FN LN

In the main interface, I would like the author column to show as First Name followed by Last name . Most times it does but some dont and its a pain to go into individual ones to change the format.

What setting should I apply to make this FN LN as a default?

Thank you

GIGO ... Not really , but that was the way those books came.
You just don't agree with those publishers.

Quality check Plugin to the rescue

Quality check Plugin: Check metadata: Check for Authors with commas (what you want fixed)
Select all results, <ctrl-a>
Quality check Plugin: FIX: Swap...

Note: only use on books with the issue.
Note2: CAN NOT fix when there are both ways in the Authors field
eg Smith, Mary & Sam Jones
Those will need your fingers typing

Look at all of what the QUALITY CHECK PI can help you with

Wow!! Worked like a charm!!! Many thanks

Does Calibre have anything like macros to automate these steps? Apologies for ignorance

There are a TON of plugins that users have created to help with user tasks.
Action chains might help with some...

BUT there is no substitute for the Human Eye + Brain looking at what is proposed (what the first task did) and what you allowed (you could hav unselected some that were mis-identified)

My motto: 'Never trust Otto' (Re: Airplane)
Why not browse the Index of Plugins (descriptions) here at MR. (all those are available via Preferences get plugins. if you choose to install any)
