Using my old Calibre 3.8 portable install on both Win7 and Win10

Hi, I'm using my first install of Calibre (3.8 portable, 2017 ?) till today on my external HD. I used this version on three different computers with Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit versions), but actually only on two rather old WIN7-32bit computers. I have built an archive of almost 1900 PDF's professional literature plus metadata and notes, which is easy accessible by Calibres interface and PDF reader and thus very valuable for me. I also use Calibre ID's as my personal reference (not links) to items. I make regularly backups of the whole folder (30 GB containing portable program and library). Everything still works as intended and I would like to continue this way for another year or two, or when the PC breaks...

However, since last year I'm using dualboot config on both computers (Win7-32 and Win10-64 22h2), to gradually find my way in Windows 10. In this transition period I'm very reluctant to open my Calibre install with Windows 10, thinking that it will not work, or making the program/library/database unusable for windows 7. Yesterday I decided to make a copy of the whole folder (containing portable program and library) and tried to open it with windows 10. Big surprise to see that Calibre simply opened and worked same way as under win7. Could also import a new PDF. Saved it. Starting windows 7 and I could still open Calibre and seeing the new item added. My first impression is that it seems to work...

So my question is: Can I use my old Calibre 3.8 portable install on both Win7-32 and Win10-64 without making the program/library/database/ unusable for one of the OS ? Any advice highly appreciated !

As long as both are using the same NTFS filesystem, yes you can.
