Convert to Fixed Layout EPUB?

I'm still pretty new to working with EPUBS and Calibre and I am trying to make an EPUB with an embedded font section that won't get overridden by my Kobo's user settings. The font is the only named font in the EPUB file but I can't seem to figure out how to make the EPUB fixed layout.

On your Kobo select font then Publishers Default. No need for fixed layout, calibre does not do fixed layout unless that is the original layout--i.e will not convert a regular epub to fixed.

Is there any way to make the publisher's embedded fonts on specific css classes override the kobo's user fonts? I've tried editing the css file and adding the !important tag on those fonts but it doesn't work.
