Onyx Boox Note Air 4C Metadata

I have been using Calibre for a few years and it has been brilliant with my Kobo and Pocketbook readers.

I have just bought the Onyx Boox Note Air 4C for the larger screen (my eyes are getting worse) and the colour aspect.

However when I sideload my books to the machine I cannot work out where the metadata is stored or even if it has been sent (Calibre reckons it has). I cannot even find a button for it.

On my Kobo/Pocketbook machines it was very intuitive. I rely on metadata for a summary of the books and other delights.

I don't know if the problem is Calibre's or Boox(Android based) itself. Calibre recognised my machine instantly and offered to handle the management.
I've already posted on the Onyx forum and they suggested to try this forum.

Any help or advice would be very greatly appreciated

You need to use some reading software on your android device that can read the metadata embedded in the book files by calibre. There is no separate metadata sending for MTP based devices like this. The Kobo has separate metadata and the PocketBook firmware is smart enough to read the metadata from the book files.

Thanks for the quick response and solution. I will now look for reading software. If Kobo did a 10.3" colour reader life would be almost perfect but their Elipsa 2E is the right sixe but black and white.
Once again thank you for your help and for creating the brilliant Calibre.
