Is there any way to hide the progress from the Alt Status Bar?
As it stands I cannot find any way to remove the progress indicator from the Alt Status Bar.
There's an option to show/hide for the bottom one, but seemingly no option for the alt one at the top. |

No, the alt status bar's progress bar cannot be disabled/hidden.

Do you by chance know if there's anything in the works to extend that functionality to the bar or is a done deal and not changing?

seeing as it hasn't changed in like 13 years (since koreader was born), I'd say is a done deal.

KOReader is open source. Anyone can submit a PR to implement new functionality. If you don't know how to program, you can pay somebody else to do it for you. Those are your two main options, the third being to switch from KOReader to a different program that better meets your needs.

I reported a problem with the alt status bar here a few months ago, and a koreader dev responded that the alt status bar is basically a legacy feature, and no one is working on it.

Hi ! if you want to display info about the book (author, chapter, etc) on top of the reader, you'll probably want to check this patch for koreader :

There is a very comprehensive patch for KOReader that allows you to customise the header via the settings menu (you can choose whether or not to display a progress bar or a separator bar). Combined with the bottom status bar, this offers a wide range of customisation options.
