Kobo Sage or Elipsa - move from 7"
My daily driver is the Kobo Libra 2, and been thinking of moving to a bigger screen - I mostly read at home, so portability is not an issue (can always take the Libra with me). Sage and Elipsa seem to be natural options, but I have a few questions: is the Elipsa screen more fuzzy with lower PPI? How is the Sage battery - will it suffice for 20 hours of reading with backlight set to 20-30% max? My intention is to have a screen that would be most similar to a paper book in size.

I don't think the Sage would last for 20 hours with the light at 20-30%. At 5%, maybe.

I moved to an Elipsa 2E after using the Forma, and I don't notice the lower resolution at all. I really love the size of the Elipsa. It feels like a hardback except lighter in weight. I read mostly at home, so portability is not an issue. If I was lugging it around with me, I would need to make sure it fits in my purse, which might be an issue for some people.

Hardcover and mass market I guess if this is what they are called? I.e paperbacks slightly bigger than 8", I think that would be a majority, but also some hardcover books, so similar to 10". I don't know if the Sage screen size will be felt compared to the Libra, one inch doesn't seem like a massive difference.

Here you can see an old size comparison I made with 6", 7.8" and 10.3" e-readers.
(I liked the Kobo Elipsa 2E screen better than the Kobo Sage screen, but that's just my personal preference). |

For me, the Sage is also slightly easier to hold in one hand, although it's heavier than the Libra. It's thinner and more ergonomic, at least for me. YMMV. Of course, if you always use a cover, then that advantage will probably be lost. |

I don't use a cover at home, tend to hold the reader with one hand. I wouldn't use a pen. Writing this on my 10 inch tablet, I'm starting to think the Elipsa 2E might not be that comfortable to hold over extended period of time and potentially overkill for novels or history books, but then it's 100 g lighter than the tablet.
