Help with KindleNote
Hey chat, I'm trying to use my Kindle 3w as an e-ink writing tool. KindleNote is the only text-editing program I've found but I can't find the update_dev-key files to dump to my Kindle. Is it somewhere on the dev's Github? The last post on the thread was in 2013 so I have little faith I could rustle up a response from him.
I would also greatly appreciate it if anyone could point me towards a method of using an external keyboard for this purpose. I'd much rather have most of the writing experience on my distraction-free Kindle than have to go to my PC. Sorry if either of these requests is beyond the public's power, I am quite stupid ![]() ![]() |

External keyboards are not supported. Even on recent (usb-c) models. And typing on screen is mostly unusable.
There are some text editors available (Leafpad, KOReader's text editor and nano for kterm) but they are not real note taking applications. For distraction-free note taking on an e-ink device just buy a Remarkable. Otherwise you'll only loose in productivity. |
