Top 50 Horror Movies Turned into a Spooky Word Search Paperback–A Backstory!
I'm a lifelong fan of horror movies and word puzzles, and I recently combined the two into a unique large-print paperback — a horror-themed word search experience designed for both casual solvers and horror fans.
Here’s how the project came to life: 1. I started by researching and selecting 50 fan-favorite horror films from top 100 lists 2. I ranked them in a countdown-style order to build suspense as you turn each page 3. For each movie, I wrote a mini horror story (1 page) featuring at least one creepy jump scare 4. I extracted 20 spooky, theme-specific words from each story 5. Then I built a custom word search puzzle around those words — complete with solution pages 6. The visual design of each page was made to “ooze horror” — creepy fonts, eerie layouts, and spooky atmosphere 7. I made sure it’s large-print so everyone from teens to seniors can enjoy it 8. Finally, I wrapped the whole thing in a spine-chilling cover Want a sneak peek? Here's a quick 20-second flip-through video: It was a passion project that helped me learn so much about layout design, visual storytelling, and merging genres. Have you seen any other books that blend puzzles with movie themes? I’d love to hear about them! 🔗 You can check out the book here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F2977KWK Last edited by pdurrant; Yesterday at 10:58 AM. |
