Updated to firmware 5.18.2 during renameotabin.zip
Hi all, I'm looking for some advice.
I was working my way through the kindlemodding.org walkthrough and got to the install of Disabling OTA Updates, I was able to open KUAL and select "Rename OTA Binaries" as well as "Rename". Now after landing back on the homepage, I get "Application Error - The selected application could not be started. Please try again." anytime I go to open the KUAL icon. In clicking around, I check the device info and see that the firmware version is 5.18.2. I know that I made sure I was still 5.17.0 before I started. What's the best past forward? It seems that I can't remove the OTA by clicking "Restore" as it says in the walkthrough because I can't open KUAL. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. If the jailbreak was successfully installed before the update then it should be possible to recover it. Check this post by Frogm4n for step-by-step instructions (follow from step 5, as the full instructions are for people who want to update while jailbroken).

Thanks! I have a question, if I do this, will it be easy/possible to remove the jailbreak and restore to factory if needed?

The procedure I've seen for removing the jailbreak is to enable OTA updates, download the current firmware, install it, let your Kindle reboot, manually reboot it after it gets to the GUI, install the current firmware again and let it reboot. You will have to manually remove some of the files/folders installed during the jailbreak.
