Kindle PW with no account. Can i install Koreader on it?
I've searched all over the internet and can't find a definitive answer. Amazon has just blocked the possibility of creating an account on my Kindle PW with firmware 5.6.1. My question is whether I could install KOReader on this Kindle (which works perfectly) even though I don't have an Amazon account. Has anyone managed to do it? Is there any method? Thanks for your help, friends.

You will need to jailbreak your PW. That old a version of firmware might be able to be jailbroken with tools that, unlike WinterBreak, do not need a registered Kindle. You could try the LanguageBreak jailbreak.

I am curious to what you mean that Amazon blocked you from registering your PW1? Was it previously registered and has somehow become blacklisted (lost, stolen, lost in delivery)?

No, no, it was my wife's Kindle. I formatted it and when I tried to create an account for myself, Amazon decided that the Kindle was obsolete. Although I've spoken with them and they say I can still use it by downloading books, I can no longer do a jailbreak with Winterbreak because it needs an account on the device. I'll try to downgrade the firmware and try with Languagebreak to see if I can rescue it. If I can't, I can still use it with books I load from the computer. It's a shame because I wanted KOReader, which I'm now using on a Kobo Touch and it's amazing.

They still register older than PW1, at least recently. You need TFA and they send a code by email or phone that needs appended to or instead of the password on the PW1. You create the account first on Amazon. CS / help desks are often wrong.
