My bathtub
I hate woodworking projects, although this hardly qualified.
The big piece is a wall shelf for pictures, price at dollar store $3.50 The vertical piece is the bottom of a cheap bamboo tray, $2 The magnetic cover folded back upon itself is mostly strong enough. I'll probably redo using a broader piece of wood with magnets inset. That will work as an "amplifier" between the device's magnets and the cover magnets. I use my "keyfob" Bluetooth remote inside a ziploc baggie. I don't push my luck and fully immerse it. |

I'm looking at this and wondering about angles and sightlines. Do you need back support and are you looking across or down? And what are you drinking? Full marks for ingenuity; I'm not one for lolling in the tub myself as it just seems to postpone the inevitable drying off and getting dressed.
I did enjoy Necessary Trouble but had reservations regarding her perspective on the civil rights movement. |

The bathtub has a nice enough reclining angle in the back.
Normally with water to my collar bone I am looking up. With my hair submerged even more so. I had considered a forward tilting angle of the device on the support. That would be easier if I were using sheet aluminum. Before the reader was sitting in the body of the shelf and the cover extended was held with a clamp. Sitting on the lip it's a bit higher and better sight lines. The tipple is Famous Grouse. I'm not much of a Scotch drinker but it was on sale for 10 € and it reminds me of the time that I climbed Ben Nevis. |

I suggest adding a small block under the shelf so that the shelf cannot slide sideways away from the wall.

Since the inside edge is actually at an angle there I was thinking of a pair of rubber feet. They are usually a bit conical and the rubber (unlike wood) would be less likely to slip up over the edge. Hey, since I just got a 3D printer I can spend hours designing a plastic wedge whose angle perfectly matches the bathtub! |
