Cannot save to disk
After reinstalling Calibre on my new computer I cannot save books on my hard-disk
I get the files from: C:\Users\my name\Downloads\Nieuwe E-books\English I want to save the files at: C:\Users\my name\Desktop\Nieuw folder The error says: calibre, version 8.2.1 ERROR: Not allowed: You are trying to save files into the calibre library. This can cause corruption of your library. Save to disk is meant to export files from your calibre library elsewhere. What am I doing wrong? |

I suspect you've created a calibre library at C:\Users\my name\Desktop\Nieuw folder.
If the folder contains a file named metadata.db it will be recognised by the calibre software as calibre library. BR |

DING DING DING
Creating ANY file or folder that you want to keep on the Desktop is a horrible idea. I can't count how many times I have heard, 'I cleaned up my desktop and now I can't find X' ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Second The Library (folder) is not something the user should need to touch (other than backup). Leave it out of sight. ![]() |

Calibre has a Save to Folder (you eject it when done sending) that acts like a reader. That could be your shared folder.
no need for a temp on the desktop. |
