error during tag rename

Hi , when i rename my tag i have this error :

That looks like a bug involving user categories. It is possible that it is caused by you having deleted a custom column that was used in user categories. Is that possible?

Regardless, I can't repeat it so the only way to debug it is to have a copy of your metadata.db and the name of the tag to delete to generate the error. If you don't want to post your metadata.db here then you can email a zip file of the metadata.db to cal-bugs at charleshaley dot org.

Which is it - Tag or Tab?

If it's a Tag, where are you renaming it - in the Tag browser or Manage Tags?

I found one way this could happen. The fix will soon be in calibre source and will be in the next release/preview. NB: It is not in preview 8.2.100.

Yes, it is a preview. Preview releases have a third-level version number >= 100.

@Doum: you might be able to work around the problem by opening the "Manage user categories" dialog then immediately closing it. This cleans the items from deleted columns from the user categories, which prevents the bug I found and fixed.

Yes, the surprise has been seeing it in the notice inside calibre.

I don't see it when using Portable 8.2.1. I do see it when running anything less than 8.2, seeing 8.2.100 instead of 8.2.1. I don't know if this is new behavior.

That was my mistake, I accidentally released it as a normal release rather than a preview release. It's too late to change it now...

Need to put some checks in to make sure this doesnt happen again.

Yes is when using my TAG (étiquette in french)
So i think you are wright , i copy my librarie from another whith custom column
On this primary library i don't have this problem

I am waiting for new release , thank's all
