Hi, I'd like to create an ebook based on a tag-based RSS feed from Archive of Our Own (AO3).
So far, I've gotten to a list of story titles, each which hyperlinks to the full article within the book. However, I would like to add the title and short summary of each story underneath each story title. So here's what my book looks like right now: First page: Article 1title Article 2 title Article 3 title Second page and on: Full text Article 1 Full text Article 2, etc I want the page to look like Article 1 title Tags Summary Article 2 title Tags Summary Article 3 title Tags Summary And I'd like to maintain that the article titles are hyperlinks to the full text in the book. I've been working on this all day looking at the manual, source code, this forum, etc, but haven't found anything. Is there a way to add tags and summary as subheadings in TOC? Or maybe I just create new pages in the book? |

ToC files are not designed to handle that type of information (azw3/KF8, ePub). You could try adding a HTML file which will allow you to add what you want (a lot of ebooks already have a HTML version of the ToC file which I personally tend to find useless since that is not what pops up when you open the ToC while reading).

Thanks, where would I put the HTML file when I'm parsing the news feed? Would it go into class BasicNewsRecipe?

I'm not sure about where it would go or if it could even be automated. When I need a HTML ToC, I generate and edit it in either Sigil or calibre's ebook-editor (ePub or azw3). If you are using mobi, the periodical ToC is a very odd beast and I don't know of any tools for modifying it.
