I was given a used paperback of Space by Michener over 30 years ago and had never gotten around to reading it. The ebook was on sale a few years ago and I snagged it, then read it last year.
Around 20 years ago I got a new hardcover of Guns, Germs, and Steel as a gift and abandoned it after a few chapters because it seemed repetitive. Around 10 years ago someone at work insisted that it is worth finishing. The ebook was on sale a few years ago and I snagged it, but haven't yet resumed reading it. Since I didn't buy either paper version, I don't know whether either counts as a repurchase. There may be others, but I can't think of any at the moment. Yes. Not all of them, of course. Only those still unread that I certainly want to read at some point, and those I loved and want to reread.

No, with one exception, Stephen Kings IT. I've read it so many times the physical copy was getting quite dog eared so I purchased the ebook to save the physical copy any more damage.

Yes, and usually we'll donate the physical copy. However, favourite authors and special editions (including signed) get kept, and series get kept until all the series is in the ebook version (unless favourite etc). I'll also replace damaged or missing books.
So basically 3 answers for me. |

Yes, about 10 years ago I downsized most of my physical books and replaced them with digital copies, either immediately or by putting them on a wish list to buy when I wanted to read them. I donated most of the physical books, and reduced from 7 bookcases to 1.
I did keep the hard copies of a couple favorite authors, along with some travel and photo books that are better suited to print. Mostly I only buy ebooks now, but I do occasionally pick up new releases from favorite authors, or go hunting for special editions such as Lord of the Rings or classic novels. |

I can't just say no, because I have on a couple of occasions. But it is very rare. I have repurchased <1% of the paper books I have owned. I can only think of three things: Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and Hitchhikers series which are all long-time favorites* and were on fantastic deals.
* Narnia was the first series I ever read on my own - my mom was reading it out loud to me around age 5 but wasn't going fast enough, so I took it and read it to myself. I've been hooked ever since. |

But only if the ebook is cheap, or on sale etc and something I'd like to re-read.

If I want to re-read the book, I will purchase it as an ebook if the price is right.

When I moved 17 years ago, I did a serious weeding of my small three shelf bookcase. I only kept my favorites that I love to reread. Whenever I come across an ebook copy I get it. But I also keep the book in my case.

For the most part I got rid of physical books. I kept a few of the better classics to keep in a bookshelf, but got rid of all the rest. If I wanted a reread I bought the digital one. Before ebooks, when I was younger and traveled a lot for work I'd buy a book in an airport and you could return it for like 50% credit for another book. That helped with the storage problem. But now I'm down to one bookshelf in my office with old school books and technical books and one antique rotating bookshelf in our living room with classics or my wife's gardening and bird books, everything else is gone.

Only under the following circumstances:
Generally I don't, but when I decided I finally wanted to start reading the Dune series, I picked up a copy of Dune on sale rather than reading the leatherback B&N edition that was on my shelf. And then I bought the rest of the series as ebooks. |
