Joy. Kobo is Schroedinger's delivery...

Ordered a Kobo (yay!) and they sent it with DPD here in the UK (boo!)
DPD say they have delivered it; they haven't but they tell Kobo they have so now I'm going around in circles trying to speak to someone at Kobo UK customer support...grr.

I'm sure the unit is great, although I cannot yet tell but what I will say is that it doesn't matter if it is superb if the purchasing process is such a problem.

There is a reason why the Kindle and Amazon is so popular...in general the purchasing and customer support is pretty good.

*sigh*

It looks like I shall need to wait "24-48 hours" to find out what is going on with this one.

If it makes you feel better I've had similar issues with Amazon. They even once misdelivered something to a completely different apartment building and then made me wait several days before I could get it resent, "as it may still be in transit" and not in a random building I have no idea where it is or have access to.

I've had a delivery from Amazon that was being sent via post. It was last tracked to be at one of the depots. It never did arrive here. The post never did find it after I put in a complaint.

I've also had another postal order from Amazon that didn't arrive in time. So Amazon once again sent another order. Eventually this order did show up. But that was about 3 weeks late. Amazon said to just keep it.

So my policy is that if anything comes by post and it's late, I'll contact Amazon and get it resent. I don't wait around to see if it shows up. If it doesn't arrive the next day (mail arrives here in the morning), I'll be contacting Amazon.

Although it depends. If it is something I need, I'll just reorder and return the original order if it ever shows up, or return the second order if it shows up after the first order.

Given the number of orders between Amazon and Kobo, I think Amazon is much better.
