Question File/Folder Name Length

Hi team,

My library only shows a certain number of characters in both the Folder name and file name. Is there a setting for this? I don't believe I have changed anything that would affect this as I haven't touched the saving books to disk editor (as I can't work out how to use it!). How can I adjust the character length to show the full name?

Many thanks, obviously I'm not so technically minded

Simple answer.. You can't. Length is set to be compatible with ALL OS'es that calibre runs on.

Simple Warning... You really need to be careful to NOT CHANGE ANYTHING where you are peeking. Calibre is a Hybrid database. I logs where it puts a book. You change. You disconnect the pieces. The number is another linkage in case there are similar (editions) titles
You really do not ever need to be there. Calibre has 3 ways of sending books to devices (plus the Content Server).

See ==>> User Manual: Save to disk

Your second screenshot what you see when you click the Preference->Import/Export->Save to Disk dialogue icon, it's tooltip reads:

Quote:
Control how calibre exports files from its database to disk when using Save to disk
Aside: IMO that should be: "…from its library…".
