Post Successfully replacing the SD card

Hi all - I had my Kobo Clara 2e die and get stuck in a boot loop. I found out retrospectively that the SD card had gotten corrupted and likely was dying.

I read through several posts in this forum and reddit on how to replace the SD Card in a Clara 2e.

The info was quite spread out, so to help others, I created a step-by-step for what I did.

https://blog.whanga.nz/posts/fix-kob...loop-sd-issue/

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • This will remove the waterproofing layer. You can re-apply (I have not done - but added some comments to the end for your own further research).
  • The original SD is a class 4. I replaced with class 10 which seems to help performance

It's a relatively straightforward process, but takes patience to free the SD card. My advice, If you feel yourself getting frustrated - take a break.

I hope this helps others. Good luck!
